Makhdoom Noah-ji-Kuni

The Makhdoom Nouh Ji Kuni is located approximately 3 km north of village Rip, it can be accessed from Rip village from Mirwah canal road to the site. The Makhdoom Noah-ji-Kuni is named after the historical mosque known as Makhdoom Noah -ji-Kuni situated on the site. It is a very large site, measuring 233 m in length, 173 m in breadth and about 1.8 m high from the surrounding area. The Kuni mound is presently in two parts, eastern and western. The western part of the site is encroached by recent graveyard, whereas the eastern part is disturbed by the regular visits and annual festival (Urs) at Makhdoom Noah by the local people looking after the mosque. The cultural material is scattered over the mound which clearly belongs to the Islamic period, it includes: plain pottery, painted black on red ware, fragments of water pot with large neck and handle, glazed pottery, terracotta quern, terracotta animal figurine, pieces of terracotta boat, terracotta humble bubble, terracotta wheels, iron pieces, copper coins and yellow carved stone grinder.
