Jamali Daro

Jamali Daro is situated at a distance of about 7.69 km north-east of Peeru Lashari Station, it can be accessed from Hyderabad-Badin Road off earthen track towards Jamali village. Jamali Daro is situated near Jamali village, takula Talhar, district Badin. It is a recently discovered site recorded by the team of CDC-EFT team in its survey of Badin District. Its measurements are 368 m in length and 220 m in breadth and about 2.7 m high from the surroundings. The southern part of the site has the presence of recent graves and the surface of the site has traces of mud brick structure. The cultural material on the surface included: Plain pottery, painted black on red ware, glazed pottery, terracotta animal figurine (broken), terracotta quern, terracotta dabber (Thapi), fragments of damaged shells, black and yellow colored sandstone piece, black color stone grinder (broken) and square shaped burnt bricks. Black on red painted pottery with painted wide rim, characteristic of Islamic period sites in Badin and Tando Muhammad Khan districts was found on this site.
