Mankan Waro Daro

The Mankan Waro Daro is located approximately 02 km south-east of Fulji Station, it can be accessed from Fulji Station via link road to Qazi Pir Muhammad solangi Village and earthen track to Mankan Waro Daro. Mankan Waro Daro is also known as Manktaro and Manak Daro (hereafter Mankan Waro Daro). The local version is that, this area was ruled by Jam Jakhro, a Samma ruler. It is also mentioned by historians as an ancient Soomra period site. The site of Mankan Waro Daro is a very large site, the mound measures 362 m in length, 192 m in breadth and about 6 m high from the surrounding cultivated area. The cultural material on surface bears no such indication but can only be verified through archaeological intensive investigation of the site as burnt bricks and brick bats are found on the surface and mud bricks wall is evident in a section of a robber`s trench on the mound. The cultural material is scattered over the mound which perhaps belongs to the Islamic period, it includes: plain and painted pottery, incised design pottery and terracotta animal figurine. The southern part of the site has presence of recent graves. There was evidence of a mud brick wall noticed on the northern side of the high mound, where a robber`s trench was dug by local people. The major portion of the mound has been destroyed.
