Khudabad Mosque

Khudabad mosque is located in Khudabad village on Indus highway (N-55), about 11 km south of Dadu city. The mosque is located in village Khudabad. It was built by Mian Yaar Muhammad Kalhoro during his reign and dates back to 1701-1718 CE It is enclosed within a compound wall, the main entrance to the mosque is through a gatehouse which faces east. The facade of the gatehouse is decorated with an arched alcove in the center with a large tudor arch within rectangular frame and wooden door for entrance. On either side of the tudor arch there are recessed rectangular panels, the interior top of the alcove is decorated with recessed tudor arch panel and two small squinches. The sides of the alcove are adorned with recessed rectangular panels. The facade is decorated with kashi tiles. The approach to the mosque is though semicircular steps of marble. The main mosque is rectangular in plan; its facade is on the eastern side, with three entrances. All these entrances are within arched alcoves, the central alcove is further adorned with recessed tudor arch. The interior of the alcoves has small squinches in the corners and recessed tudor arch panel in the center and honey-comb design above. The entrances within the alcoves are flanked by recessed tudor arches and rectangular frames. The right and the left sides of the smaller alcoves are adorned with two recessed tudor arch panel and two recessed rectangular panels.
