Canopy of Shahdad Faqir Langha

The Canopy of Shahdad Faqir Langha lies about 80 m south of Mian Yar Muhammad Kalhoro mausoleum and about 3 km west of Khudabad mosque Dadu.The canopy of Shahdad Faqir Langha is located near the Mausoleum of Mian Yar Muhammad Kalhoro. According to local version the canopy belongs to Shahdad Faqir Langha, but no historic records are available regarding Shadad Faqir Langha. The canopy of Shahdad Faqir Langha is built with yellow color stone; it is erected over a double stepped platform, there is a yellow carved stone border surviving on one side of the first platform with beautiful motifs/designs in the shape of rosette and other floral and geometrical designs. The other three sides of the border have been repaired and plastered with cement. The canopy is square in plan and is erected on the second platform with the support of eight pillars. All the Pillars of the canopy are divided into three parts (base, shaft and capital) carved with geometric, floral and sun flower designs. The dome rests on the octagonal drum. Presently the dome has collapsed. The parapet is crowned by a series of pointed arched shaped merlons having various decorative motifs around the canopy and there is only one grave inside the canopy.
