Shrine of Nawab Saeed Qureshi

The shrine of Nawab Saeed Khan Qureshi 1677 CE is located inside Delhi Gate Multan. During last days of Jahangir he was assigned an important post in Multan and became a close confident of Prince Murad Bakhsh, governor of Multan during the reign of his father Shah Jahan. Later on he was transferred to Gujrat and still later to Delhi . He finally returned to Multan and died in 1677 CE. He was buried in the mausoleum that he had built by himself in corner of his palace-garden. He is also said to have built a mosque. For his good taste in poetry and literature he won appreciation from two Mughal princes - Murad Bakhsh and Aurangzeb. Originally, Saeed Khans Mausoleum stood in the midst of a vast garden with palaces all around all except the mausoleum have perished. The tomb is octagonal in plan, topped by an octagonal drum and semi-circular dome. Baked bricks and tile work are prominent. Entrance of the main sanctum has been provided a carved wooden gate and pointed, simple arched. Each side of the enclosure  and drum is decorated with simple pointed arched and blur tile work. The finial of dome is pointed and preserved.
