Watala Manri

An archaeological site, in the form of a mound is located in Watala Manri area of Upper Dir district. The site is measuring 19x16.50m. The site is badly damaged due to illegal activities of locals. There are few exposed cells made in diaper masonry style, appear to be associated with monastic establishment at the site. Stone blocks of damaged structures and potshards are visible at different parts of the site. The findings indicate that site was occupied during Kushan period.
