Pat Suleman Graveyard

This is a Kalhora period (18th Century CE) graveyard where apart from hundreds of graves also stand five tombs constructed in burnt bricks and plastered with lime mortar. These are the tombs of Suleman Faqir, Faqir Muhamamd, Baksho Lund, Piyaro Lund and Lal Khan Lund. Suleman Faqir was the spiritual follower of Mian Naseer Muhammad Kalhoro, who led a freedom movement against the Mughal rules from 1657 CE till his death in 1692 CE. Mian Naseer Kalhoro allotted him the putt or jagir where the graveyard stands today and the village is still remembered by the name of Putt Suleman. The graveyard certainly belongs to the late 17th and 18th centuries. On some of the tombs in the graveyard, some beautiful domestic scene with two feeding buffalos on either side of a charpoy with ornate legs can be seen. On a panel inside the tomb can also be seen fish on a platter and a rider on an ostentatiously caparisoned horse with floral saddle cloth on orange background with heavily tasseled stirrups. The tail and the braided mane of the horse are decorated with baubles or flowers. A rider with a sword and shield at his side is stabbing a leopard with a spear with streaks of blood below the stricken beast. There are more such designs and decorations on these tombs.
