Tomb of Mubarak Khan

It is located inside the Makli Hill necropolis near the tomb of Jam Nizamuddin. Tomb of Jam Mubarak Khan was constructed in 895 Hijrah, 1490 CE during the reign of Jam Nizamuddin II alias Jam Nando ruler of Samma dynasty. Jam Mubarak Khan also known as Dulha Darya Khan was the adopted son of Jam Nizamudin Nando and his Commander-in-Chief. Jam Mubarak was given the title of Khan-e-Azam and was martyred by Mughals (Mangols) in 895 Hijrah, 1490 CE. The tomb of Jam Mubarak Khan situated in a quadrangle of high walls is built with carved stone blocks and jeweled with inscribed Arabic inscriptions by the Mason. It stands in close proximity to the mehrab, cut into the western wall of the enclosure. The enclosure walls are pierced by two door-openings one of the south and the other on the east wall. An Arabic inscription inscribed on the tomb of Mubarak Khan identifies the eternal abode of Mubarak Khan, while the lintel of the eastern door also contains an Arabic inscription which gives the date of construction of this complex in the year eight hundred and ninety five 895 A.H. (April, 1409 CE)”. The Headstone on the graves of Mubarak Khan is topped by a turban in the shape of a lotus. An Arabic inscription inscribed on the tomb of Mubarak Khan reads: (Translation) “This resting place is for the exalted Khan Mubarak Khan the martyr son of Sultan Nizamuddin”. Similarly, the lintel of the eastern door is inscribed with an Arabic inscription which reads: (Translation) “The edifice (is built) in the time of the great Khan, Mian Mubarak Khan son of Sultan Nizamddin Shah the benevolent and the beloved of Allah; the construction (began) in the month of Jumadi-I in the year eight hundred and ninety five 895 A.H. (April, 1409 CE)”.
