Bhrund Temple (Kalhore Rajgan Temple Complex) No. 2

The site is located near the Bhrund Bata Bazar, south-west of Bhrund village, on the left side of the Bhrund road leading to Sehnsa, Kotli at a distance of 2.5 km and approached by Holard Bridge. The temple complex is located on the slightly raised ground, at height of 1-1.5 m from the surrounding ground level. The temple complex consists of four temples, lying on the four corners and along the side fortified wall of the complex and built up with large stone slabs i.e., molded and carved. The entire temple complex has been plastered with lime plaster on both exterior and interior sides. Each temple has a raised and projected platform. There are remains of water tank in the center of the complex. The entire temple complex is square in plan. The complex is densely covered with vegetation and several Banyan trees have grown in the surrounding area. The surrounded area also has agricultural fields, a sacred water pond and a later period fort. A small number of potshards, which were littered in the complex were collected. Important measurements are, Temple 1: north-south: 4m; east-west: 3.5m; preserved height: 3 m, Temple 2: north-south: 10m; east-west: 6m; preserved height: 3.5 m, Temple 3: north-south: 10m; east-west: 8m; preserved height: 3 m, Temple 4: north-south: 5m; east-west: 6 m; preserved height: 2.5 m; plan of complex: 50x50m.The site can be dated to 7th - 8th century CE.
