Ali Baig Gurdwara
Azad Jammu and KashmirGurdwaraProtected
The Gurdwara is located in Ali Baig village, 10 km east of Mirpur. The Gurdwara is built with standard size of burnt bricks in lime mortar. The building has two stories. It has entrance on all four sides and multi-cusped arches. The facade of the building is ornamented with blind arches, flanked by decorative cut-brick pillars. The entrance is provided with door jambs in white marble and Corinthian pillars have the Gurmukhi inscriptions. A flight of steps leads to the upper story. The building has canopy on the top, with horse-shoe like entrance on all four sides. The exterior is square while the interior has been converted into an octagon to construct the dome, which surmounts the canopy. The floor of the Gurdwara is decorated with glazed tiles, having floral motifs. Brick sizes in the construction technique suggest that it was built in the 19th century during the Dogra Raj.
