Mand Karo Wooden House No.2

The house is located in Mand karo village of Neelum valley. The house no.2 is square in plan. It has three stories. The ground floor is use for sheltering cattle. First floor is used as living area and second floor is used as a storeroom for household possessions. The roof of the house has slope on both sides for removing snow and water in winter season. Ground story has only a big hall. This part of the house is used to store wood for winter and hay for cattle. They store wood in summers and use in winters for cooking and heating purposes. It has a small gallery (portico) on western side. The entrance is located to the west. First story consists of two rooms and a big hall. Hall is used as a kitchen area. It has three windows, one washroom and a door. All windows are equal in measurement. The door is on the right corner. In the front of the kitchen door there is a long gallery. It has four pillars and a staircase leads up to the second floor. The gallery leads to room 1 and room 2, which have one door and one window each. The door of room one is on the left corner of the room and the door of the room two is on the right corner of the room. Both rooms are located on the left side of house. Room 1 is used as a guest room and room 2 is used as a bedroom. In front of the rooms there is a gallery (portico). It has five pillars and having wooden railing which has diamond shape pattern. At the left corner of the gallery there is a washroom. The roof of the washroom has slope. It consists of a big hall which is 10 m long and 10 m wide. It has a height of about 2.5 m. Due to the slope, the roof is high in the center.
