Jamia Mosque Gous Pur

Mosque is located in deh Ghouspur; taluka Kand Kot, district Jacobabad. Ghous Pur town is 25 km in west of Kandh Kot city and 65 km in east of Shikarpur city. Entrance is on eastern side with three floral pattern engraved wooden arch doors. In facade, blue glaze tiles are used in upper portion and lower portion has lime plaster. Facade has a series of battlement on top. There is a tower for Azaan in southern corner of courtyard. There are two entrances in courtyard. There are three windows in each northern and southern side of prayer hall. There are two small doors with staircase in western wall. Prayer hall has 9 domes with finials and eight minarets with finials. There are four L shaped thick pillars in center. It measures 20.25 m EW x 20.25 m NS, height: 16 m. Mosque is square in plan. Mosque is decorated with glazed finials, turrets, battlement, arches from outside, while inside is decorated with fresco paintings, golden colour, pendant and wide Mehrab. Inscription is also visible. Internally, there is a wide Mehrab, two arches, two cupboards and two small storing places with wooden door are in western wall. Eastern wall has three wooden doors in arches. Southern wall has three niches with grills. Northern wall has one cupboard, one niche and one door. There are three domes found in row 3 on NS and 3 on EW. East-West domes are painted with blue, pink and white colors. There are four ventilators and four corbelled arches. Cheroli is used on top portion. Central dome is painted with multi-color floral designs. There are 16 small arches above ventilators on central dome. North-south three domes on plain white washed. There are four cemented corbel arches. Central dome has four ventilators and four corbel arches. Blue, pink, yellow and white colors are applied. The monument is probably Associated with Kalhora period of Sindh.
