SindhSettlementProtected
Thariri Iban Odho is situated in Deh Noorgah Unar, Taluka Garhi Yasin, District Shikarpur. The site is visible and accessible just off the main road of Shaikarpur to Ratodero, close to the village Iban Odho, 10-km South West of Garhi Yasin town. Because of agricultural activity around the site, we have been unable to demark its extension but the existing mound measures as 172 m in length, N/S and 115 m in width, E/W direction with total height about 16 m from surrounding ground level. During the surface analysis of this site several important features like kilns and wall and cultural objects were recorded (Kazi & Mallah1991). The cultural objects include vase, bowl, jar, large storage/container, Miniature pots, perforated cylinder jars, plates and dish on stands. The other Terracotta object are female figurine, bull cart frames, cart wheels, bangles, beads, terracotta cakes, balls and animal figurine. The marine shell bangles and stone objects were part of collection. The stone objects include sandstone polisher, chert blade core, flakes, hammers and chert drill. The presence of marine shell bangles, chert stone, and sandstone certain suggest some interaction with surrounding regions.
