Char Baro South 1

The site is located on the flat top of a sand dune where cultural material is seen in a good concentration. A number of exotic items were reported, like two black stone bead, fragmented lapis lazuli, a copper fragment, white disc beads along with stone tools, pottery, terracotta gamesmen, terracotta bangles, cakes, and shell bangles and others. The stone tools consist of blades, core and hammer stone. Their size is larger than micro lithic, suggesting that they cannot be associated with the Mesolithic geometric repertoire. Various type and size of pottery were collected. The majority is associated with the Kot Dijian period. A sandstone polisher was also part of the cultural assemblage from this site.
