Gurdwara Panja Sahib (Hasan Abdal, Attock)

Panja Sahibis a famous Gurdwara is located in Hasan Abdal. The shrine is considered to be particularly important as the handprint of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak, is believed to be imprinted on a boulder at the Gurdwara. The Guru is said to have visited this place in the summer of 1521 CE. The first Gurdwara at the site was built by Hari Singh Nalwa, a famous general of Ranjit Singh and was named Panja Sahib by him. An imprint of a right hand was carved on the rock while it was rebuilt in the Mughal style by Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780-1839 CE).
