Darbar Sakhi Sultan

Syed Sadaruddin Bhaakri, known as Sakhi Sultan Bhaakri was the maternal uncle of Syed Imam Jafer Shah Bukhari. The tomb of Sakhi Sultan is located on the south of G.T. Road at Attock Khurd. It is a massive structure of bricks and stone (schist) running from west to east with a curve following the contour of the hill and measuring 14.17 m with a height of 2.50 m. This is a rectangular building with an arched door opening under a high niche and flanked by two windows on either side. There are two small protruding niches one each on either side of the entrance for oil lamps. The niches look splendid with their semi-circular roofing. The top portion of the door has rectangular spaces with floral designs. The front facade is profusely decorated with fresco paintings and floral designs in green, red, yellow and pinkish colours. The windows are provided jails (net design screen for air and light) with square openings and decorated with floral designs on the sides. The front is surmounted by four small minarets one each in the northern and southern corners of the western wall and two on top of the high alcove entrance. There is mosque inside measuring 6.7 x 3.32 m with thickness of the walls up to 0.65 m, while the height of the walls is 2.14 m. It has a vaulted dome with squinches and a prayer niche in the western wall. There is a spacious courtyard in the front secured by a gate. Area between the shrine and mosque is filled with monumental graves of the same period, having traces of paintings. Plaster and brick masonry is also visible.
