Khanqah-e Mualla Tutkhor Shiger

This grand Khanqah situated on the left bank of Shiger Nala, was built by Sayyed Mir Yahya. The date of constructions carved above a door frame is 1023 AH. It has a large prayer chamber, measuring 15.4 x15.4 m, with the roof supported by 6 massive pillars. The roof is surmounted b a characteristic drum with a tapering dome and a finial. The prayer hall is sandwiched by two lateral constructions which contain six cells (chilakhot) on each southern and northern side on the ground floor and woman galleries on upper floor. The prayer hall is preceded by a high verandah to the east, measuring 4.4 m from east to west and from south to north 8.1 m. Characteristic structures are erected on both northern and southern corner of the verandah used for Azan. On the northern and southern parts of the western wall, characteristic of these style balconies is beautifully constructed. This grand Khanqah is famous in Gilgit-Baltistan due to its ornament designed.
