Frano, Chhorbat

Frano is a historical village situated on the border with Indian held Nura valley. Before 1971 war between Pakistan and India, three villages namely Tiaqshi, Turtuk and Chulonkha were with Pakistan and parts of Khaplu Valley, which were reached after Frano Village. Here was found a wooden old mosque built by Amir Kabir Sayyed Ali Hanadani the first preacher of Islam in this region. His wooden Friday stick called locally Asa is preserved here now kept in the house of Molana Eshaq the Khateeb of the Friday sermon for security purpose. Along the road on our left back side of a shop a big boulder having beautiful carvings. Among the carvings three stupas, five ibexes and one circle was found. The elevation is 2765 m. Below in the pasture land a stone has two ibexes.
