Keris Fort

Keris Fort is situated on a ridge along the right bank of Shayok River. The three- storey structures have a rectangular plan, overlooking the river. It is 200 years old is a combination of Kashmiri and Balti architecture. I t has a central courtyard- a common characteristic of Fort-Palaces in Baltistan. This is a residence of Royal Family and Ruler of this Place from Yabgo Dynasty. On northern side of the village on the ridge/ hill a fortress is found which was used during war time, now in dilapidated condition.
