Khami Kot Mosque

Dr. Ahmed Hassan Dani reports that there were several old mosques in Tangir Valley but most of them have been either renovated or have had new structures erected in their stead. Khami Kot mosque is one of the few surviving old mosques in this region. The mosque has a rectangular prayer hall (13.1 x 11.2 m) with its main entrance to the south. A covered verandah provides access to the mosque through a main entrance. Towards the eastern side of the verandah is a space for ablutions, through which runs a water channel. The prayer chamber has nine wooden pillars to support the flat roof. The mihrab (niche) has a long-pointed arch, and is contained within an indented frame in the western wall of the prayer hall.
