Khanqah-e-Moallah Ghawari

The village Ghawari is located on the left bank of the Shyok River and is located 40 km away from the main town of Khaplu. This massive Khanqah is a prominent building, built topographically at the highest location of Ghawari village. It is surrounded with traditional houses. The Khanqah is built with a traditional cribbage and cator construction technique, using timber, stone and mud. The building consists of a main prayer hall and an entrance verandah on its eastern side. In front of the verandah is a courtyard with a large plane tree.
