Gilgit-BaltistanTombProtected
This Khanqah is located in the Kooro village, on the right bank of the Shayok River, 60km away from the town of Skardu. The space in front of the Khanqah is used for social gatherings in the community and is traditionally called a changra. From this space, a stone staircase provides access building of the Khanqah. The Khanqah has gone through several major restoration and reparative interventions so far. In 1971, the main hall of the building was extended, and all the original windows were replaced. Moreover, its old walls were replaced with new dressed stone walls, which were incorporated into the timber frame of the building.
