Alchori Khanqah

Gilgit-BaltistanTombProtected
This Khanqah is located in Alchori village, 15 km away from the town of Shigar. It lies at the heart of the town`s historic settlement, and is surrounded by old, traditional houses. The structure is built with a cribbage-and-cator technique, and consists of a main hall with meditation chambers lying adjacent to its northern and southern walls. A verandah on the eastern side allows access into the main hall. A Tibetan tower sits at the top of the domed roof of the building - a common feature of Khanqah architecture in Shigar Valley.
