Sanghai Mound

The site is located in the foot of Jumpuk mountain about two km north-east of Sanghai village and 8 km east of Turbat-Gwadar Road. It is about one km east of the water channel from Mirani Dam, watering the village of Sanghai and the surrounding agricultural fields. Nilag River flows to the south of the site and has badly eroded some portions of the site exposing some structures. It measures 500 x 200 m with maximum height of 8 m. Most prominent pottery from this site is black on buff surface best known as Damb Sadaat Buff plain ware. The typical pottery from this type is mostly jars having open mouthed rims while some bowls are with small mouth and sharp angles. This type is further divided into three different colours which are black-on-brown, black-on-red and coarse black-on-brown.
