Kohna Camp

This mound is located close to Gar Fort in Bazar Chib village with Dumak Koh mountain about 3 km on the east in district Panjgoor. It measures 60 m in EW direction and 50 m in NS direction with maximum surviving height of 3 m and surrounded by agricultural land on the west and wild growths on the remaining three sides. The mound is in irregular shape with fissures and gullies created by flow of rain water over the centuries. The surface collection includes the red ware with both thick and thin texture. Few shards of grey and painted grey ware have also been met with. The Togua ware from the site indicates its commercial relations with a number of settlements of Baluchistan. The discovery of fragments of goblets suggests its relationship with the cities of mature Indus culture as well.
