Zangian/Socap Kaur

It is located in 4-5 km south-west from the center of Turbat at the junction of two Kaurs which forms the head of the Sorap Kaur. To the west raises the Koh Imam Mountain. The site was discovered by Stein in 1928. The name of Zangian used by A. Stein is presently unknown by the local population. It is a large cemetery of rectangular cairns made up of several groups along the two banks of the Kaur. Currently the tombs are being destroyed by plundering for flat stones which form the walls of the tombs for the erection of the new buildings in Turbat. Broken vessels were found near the plundered tombs. Being Zangian other similar cemeteries, but less extensive were visited to the west of Koh Imam and to the north of Siah Kangi Koh.
